Options
The Standard Classic Preamplifier uses copper wound transformers and 0.6mm silver coated copper internal wiring.
Add MKII Transformers
We can fit our MKII transformers into the standard Classic Preamplifier. The MKII trasformer has a 25% larger Mu-Metal core and offers inproved low frequency response and more headroom.
Customers who have had the MKII transformers fitted to their Classic units have been unanimous in their priase of the improvements. Customers have reported extended high and low frequencies, improved dynamics, wider stereo imaging and better separation. The Copper MKII transformers add £600.00 (ex VAT) to the price of the Classic Copper and the silver MKII transformers add £750.00 (ex VAT) to the price of the Classic Silver
Silver Version
It is also available with 99.99% pure silver wire throughout. We use this wire for all transformer windings and internal connections. The silver version also uses silver plated RCA connectors on the rear panel.
This option is suited to listeners who prefer the sound of silver wire or have other components which user silver wire and who wish to maintain a silver signal path throughout their systems.

Add remote level control
We can fit remote level control to the Classic Preamplifier. Our remote control solution uses a very high quality stepper motor which physically turns the level switch fro behind. While this is not the cheapest way to add remote functionality, it's the only way to ensure there are no additional components in the signal path.
We also fit deeper top and base parts to the case so the remote control units are 300 mm deep rather than 200mm.
